Paco GenLI = RS485 Module FTDI FT232BM/BL Chip ?

Postby mbc Rankweil » 06.02.2012, 15:04

Hello together;

I have been loking for a Paco GenLI interface to buy, so I found that:

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... ink:top:de

It is a "USB to RS232 UART TTL RS485 Modul" Translation Module, it looks like it ist compatible to the Paco GenLI

IMHO is that not really so, because its include NOT a PIC processor like Pacos GenLi
with a special XpressNet firmware and also there is no USB typ in Pacos portfolio

Hands off, if it will be for XpressNet 8)

Hello MBC Rankweil, (no real name ?)

please look in this manual on page 3.
There You will found the function of the GenLI internal firmware:
An interactiv setup/changing of the GenLI/XpressNet device address.

If this function may be dispensable, I don't know exact.
IMHO is this address for multi device communication on the XpressNet bus necessary.

Sorry, on a second glance I discovered the GenLI-USB, please excuse my previous mistake.

Best Regards

I've made the gen-li with USB connection.

Is a normal Gen-li, but it not have the MAX232, I redirected the connections that goes from 16F628 to Max 232 to a board that I buyed from Ebay that contained the FT232 and the usb coonector.

Is a GenLI with a comercial board attached

If you want I could send you photos and the Eagle files.
