[SOLVED] Power On/Off not reacting from ECoS to RocRail

Postby treinbert » 06.11.2011, 19:52

We have held a good RocRail day today.

One of the features we found witht the ECoS 1, is that, when the ECoS is stopped/started, the settings are not being changed in RocView. The server was running on Windows XP, but we had the same behaviour on Ubuntu. The versions of RocView/RocRail are from last friday.

The same behaviour is seen as RocView is running on several computers, like Windows XP, MAC and Ubuntu. The power ON/OFF in the menu is not changed if on one of the other RocView screens the ECoS is stopped/started.

Regards,
Bert

Hi Bert,

2) If you are asking for support for Rocrail functionallity, auto mode, switches, signals ... you have to post your rocrail.ini plan file and the trace file. No one can help you if you don't provide this informations.

without any further information there will be no help. ;)
Best Regards, Rob.

Hi Bert and Rob,

I've also seen on the Rocrail day and before at home with an ECos2 that there is a line in the trace file when you switch the track power on or off. So I think the event is seen by the rocrail server but not send to rocviewer.

best regards,

Hi,

if the ECoS does not generate a "Go/Stop" event there is no way to broadcast the change to the clients.

What is needed:
A byte level trace of Power On/Off.
Best Regards, Rob.

I've pressed the Go and after that the Stop button:

Thanks for the trace; This is not really documented, but I will add it in the ecos library.
Best Regards, Rob.

Hi Rob,

I've tested revision 3013, but found a problem.
It is not possible to switch the ecos track power off with rocrail (ctrl-P) or clicking on the light. It is possible to switch the track power on and off on the Ecos itself, but is not shown at all in Rocrail. Once the track power is off, it is possible to switch it on with Rocrail, but it is not shown.

I've also a DDX connected to Rocrail as 2nd command station. When I shutdown the Ecos completely it is possible to switch the DDX on and off and it is shown.

Here are the traces. Starting point is track power off. Switching the track power on with Rocview and switching it off gain.

Make a trace without the DDX; ECOS as the one and only CS.
