Newcomer problem?

Newcomer problem?

Postby jimmaet » 09.10.2017, 21:27

Hi, Let me introduce myself:
Kees Visser, dutchman living in Finland. Having a round-the-room H0 track of about 100m, 50 turnouts.
Now trying to switch to Rocrail.

First problem I encounter after following step-to-step guide and automated analysis:
When I let a train ride from block to block, the sensors are correctly activated but the arrival block never gets occupied, freeing the origin block.

What did I do wrong (or didn't do), and which file will you need to look into my database?

Thanks and enjoy modelling!

Hi Kees,

Welkom to Rocrail!

Do your blocks have an enter and an in sensor? Are they defined in each block?

In the future with questions, please add your plan and other relevant data to the forum, so that the "experts" can see the values you entered in the screens.

Hi Tom!
I did ask, which file from the database is needed. Or do I zip the whole folder?

Hi Kees,

welcome on board! I am happy to read you started using the step-by-step tutorial. See chapter Getting Help of the tutorial and/or use this link for an instruction on how to add the necessary files. I guess you are facing a minor problem / misconfiguration and your trains will start running flawlessly soon!

Best regards
Besra

Hi Kees,

Open Rocview and select the 3rd icon from the right. This will select the files required.

Hi Kees,

You have to read the first wiki I send you.
If you have sensor in a block (block 27 does not, others?), then you have no event (block 28, on the + side you have sensor 28+, on the - side you have 28-) sofar so good. But you did not tell the program what to do with the sensor of 28+ = ENTER en sensor 28- = IN. Look at every block.

Thanks Tom, somehow I missed a few lines in the step-by-step, especially the setting in Rocrail properties - Analyse that will automate this vast amount of these settings.

Now I can ride from 50 to 27 or 28, but get a "no destination found" while trying back from 27/28 to 50. Even after removing assingment.
There are routes in both directions, so I'm still missing something...
Maybe to do with the "check previous tracklines" message, that I don't undertand.

Hi Kees,

Novice  we have started all the same way!

Train arrives in 27/28 the little arrow in the block points to the right (forward), that is the direction of the train.
In Rocrail it always wants to go forward, so in your case you have to manual turn the train around (in Rocrail) by "swap block enter side". because this is a "kopstation" Terminal station you can deselect in the properties of the block "allow change direction" and set a checkmark by "Terminal station". Now the train flips automatically.

Hi,

It will take a while, bear with me :D
After Tom's last help I got the train to run from 51-50-27/28 and back fully automatically.
Thought I got it.
Then I added block 24, properties equal those of 50.
And I have again "no destination found", seems to be a conflict between 50 and 24 (27-24 and 50-51 works).
Still a novice! What am I missing now?

Regards,
Kees

Hello!

You have to have the direction button "<<" set to ">>".
">>" is default "forward". Try to not use this direction button. Keep it ">>".

BTW: You've a couple of server messages
