(implemented) Route control feature request

(implemented) Route control feature request

Postby smitt48 » 17.10.2017, 10:11

Hi,

I would like to propose to add the variable "State" to the "Routes Control" function. When a route is closed, this route does not work in "Routes Control", this makes sense but a return to the route table is necessary to verify the status of the route.

Thanks Tom

Hi Tom,

the Routes Control dialog is obsolete. (For years I deleted it but some users wanted it back....)
You can test the routes also from without the Route Table dialog.

Or just rename the impossible routes like: "imp-[a+]-[b-]"

Hi Rob,

OK, I see!
I will change my request.
Can you allow scaling of the Route table, it covers 2/3 of my laptop screen obscuring the plan. That is why I used the "control" feature.

Hi Rob,

sorry, thats not possible.

Wow. What do you mean?
It is a "normal" windows feature that a window is scalable.

Hi Tom,

you mean sizeable.

Dialogs in Rocrail are sizeable, but not smaller then waht it needs to show all its controls.

Hi Rob,

Maybe I used the wrong word, but I don't think so.

sizeable = beträchtlich = omvangrijk
scalable = skalierbar = schaalbaar

All according to Google translate.

OK, I do not know what you want.

Maximize, Minimize, Restore are buttons on the title bar. What do they do? Scale all controls from 1:1 to 1:x?
The window border can be set to resizable. What does that mean?

Sorry, my english is not so good as yours, but scaling and sizing is not the same for me.

Hi together,

In systems known to me, it is common to give the unwanted elements a prefix such as "zzz". This brings these items in lists with alphabetical order to the end and You will enjoy it. ;-)

Hi Rainer,

You are supposed to be on vacation.
That wasn't my point.
Because of SLIM I had to make a fixed crossing into 2 turnouts. Therefore the analyser generated impossible routes. I changed the routes, so the analyser would not re-generate them and added closed to some routes, so Rocrail would not use them.
So far so good.
Now I wanted to test the turnouts on the new routes (just to make sure), I used "route control", noticed it did not show the status (state) of the route. Requested a change, so I could skip "closed", it was rejected because "route control" is deprecated. (Closed routes still try to work with the "test" button).
OK!
I tried the same feature in routes table, it works fine, except on my laptop it covers 2/3 of the screen. If you want to see the turnouts move, after clicking test you have to move the screen to the side. Cumbersome, that is what I liked about the "route control" nice and small! So I asked if the route control screen could be scalable/sizeable, that was rejected also.
It is OK, I can live with the system the way it is, it was just a "nice to have" feature. Therefore the post has been marked closed.

I hope you enjoy your vacation, it must be raining at your place. :D

Hi Tom,

I could filter out the closed routes in the route control dialog.
You made your point that a small dialog is in some cases helpful.
Best Regards, Rob.
