SOLVED Number of S88 modules set to 13 generates HSI88 dumps

Postby start123 » 01.01.2014, 15:51

Hi guys,

After a longer period of abstinence I spent some months on building a new track. Now it's time to come back to rocrail :D Finally I am trying to connect a freshly soldered S88 module via HSI88 to rocrail and face something strange: Every time I set the number of connected S88 modules to my present number of 13 (e.g. 5-4-4) the rocrail server generates lots of error dumps which is not the case if set to 12 or 14 modules for example (4-4-4, 5-5-4)

However, that looks like an already known problem, as there seemed to be a bug in an much older rocrail release (found Bug #579676 in launchpad) which looked very much the same but should have been solved some years ago. Now I am using the 6604 version, compiled from sources received via git. There shouldn't be that problem any more, so I would like to know if I might have missed something, checked out the wrong sources or any other kind of beginners mistake...?

Any help would be very appreciated. With my best wishes and a happy new year,

Rolf

Hi Rolf,

I was able to reproduce your problem with 13 modules on the HSI.

I'll do my best ( ) to find a solution, but I think the problem is "on the other side".

Lothar

Hello once again.

I had to reinstall rocrail and used the 6650 build. Obviously the old behaviour of dumping reappeared again. Could it had happened that the fix was lost during one of the latest builds? I am switching back to 6612 now which worked fine for me.

Have a nice evening,

Rolf

Would be helpful if you can post the server trace.
