[Issue] Modules with trailing spaces.

Post by rvooyen » 22.01.2019, 16:46

Hi,

Recently I notice that the modules I have previously created now all have a trailing edge of spaces.
See the screeshot:
Schermafdruk 2019-01-22 16.31.01.jpg
These trailing spaces then overlap onto the modules when making a modular layout and cause interference.
The module rightside trailing spaces cover the leftside of the modules and so spoil the view.

Seems to be recent in Rocrail updates. Can it be checked.

Thanks

Robert

Continuing - there seem to be some problems with editing modular layouts - as of recent Rocrail updates.
In the past I had no problems with the editing and combining modules into a modular layout.

Recently there are issues:

1. As per above there are trailing spaces on all modules that were not there before and cause interference on combining modules.

2. Various editing functions in the combined layouts are not working properly:

2a. The rotation function on a module does not work anymore. Only the direct chosen orientation N S E W works.
2b. When an orientation is selected the module is misformed in some directions - see the pictures.
2c. The trailing spaces can sometimes be avoided if additional (unnecessary) track is added. But not always.
(I think placing the modules into top left (0,0) origin is a problem?? (counting 1 instead of 0??)

So at this time editing of modular layouts is not fully functional and causes errors (orientation/trailiing spaces/misform). Older RR's editing was fine!

I attach some examples.

The original module.

Misformed module JBS0506 on orientation 1 Notice trailing spaces on modules.
Module RvO01 two unnecessary tracks added on right to avoid trailing spaces.

Misformed module JBS0506 on orientation 2.

Hi Robert,

if you did specify the size of the modules in the module plan, Rocview will use them.
If not specified, Rocview will calculate the size.

Rob,

I have never sized any module I have made.

All I do is move it to the top left corner.

Robert,

I mean the size which is specified in your module.xml which you did not attach.

Changes to the modular layout editing are years ago.

I am sorry Rob,

I had no problems in the past, but now things do not work and modules are misformed. Am I seeing mirages?

Attached a zip file with all modules and combined layouts (MTGN, PendeModule1).

PS ONE POINT:
I had a diskcrash on this laptop and it had W7. I now have W10 on this laptop. That is the only difference.

One of the issues seems to be the display in the combined layout.
In the dispay unused spaces are added to the right side of the module no matter what the orientation is.
So the display function is adding the extra column of spaces on the right.

See attached for module RvO01. Whether North or South a column is added on the right.
This was not seen before.
RvoSouth.jpg
See the column of spaces on the rightside as diplayed. (Not in original module)
RvoNorth.jpg
The column is again on the rightside as displayed. (Not in original)

And another example of misforming on rotation.

I attach another example showing one module rotating correctly and a similar module being misformed on rotation.
LusModules1.jpg
Both modules displayed correctly. But with column of spaces on right. MTGN06 has been edited adding some track.
LusModules2.jpg
On rotating the unedited module is OK. The other one is cut off. (Lost column)
LusModules3.jpg
On rotating the unedited module is OK. The other one is cut off. (Lost column)

On displaying modules there appears to be a mismatch of one column/row of grid spaces between the created module and the combined display (Start 0 or start 1???)

Hi Robert,

I suppose this has something todo with the calculation of the size introduced/modified for the AUI window layout.
I will check.

Robert,

I do not know where to start with your Zipped files...
Can you just zip the module.xml's and the arrangement.xml?
