[Fixed] Deleting a module from a layout also deletes the module plan.

Post by rvooyen » 02.08.2019, 21:11

Hi,

This concerns modules for a modular layout and building and changing the modular layout.

Running 15824, but seen from 15155+.

The issue:

A modular layout uses underlying modules to create it.
So a modular layout may consist of moduleA, moduleB, moduleC and so on.
ModuleA/B/C are built first and stored in their respective folders.
The modular layout, in a separate folder, is then created by adding these modules. So far so good all works OK.

However when changing the modular plan - in this case - removing one or more of the modulesA/B/C,
these are correctly removed from the layout, BUT are also wiped clean in their own folder! A blank plan remains!
The workaround I am using is to copy a file from the backup folder to replace the cleansed file.

This did not happen in (much) earlier Rocrail revisions.

I attach an example KeerL.xml that has been wiped clean after removal from the layout and the file as it should be from the backup folder, that I will now copy to the folder and rename to keerL.xml after deleting the cleansed keerL.xml.

Thanks,

Robert

Hi Robert,

just tested it, but cannot reproduce the 'wiping-out' issue.

Please provide a modular plan, with one or two modules, to be able to reproduce the issue.

Here some files.

MTGNtest is the modular layout.

It has KeerspoorL, KeerspoorR and StationRvo as modules

If I delete one of these (say KeerL or KeerR) then the plan is wiped clean in the folder for the moduke as previously shown.

All are in the c:\rocrail folder with a folder for each. KeerspoorL, KeerspoorR(plan.xml), StationRvO and MTGNtest(planMTGN.xml) folder for the layout.

Robert.

Hi Robert,

OK, I can reproduce it if I save after the deletion of the module.
I will check this.

Hi Robert,

I found and fixed the problem.
Please test and report with revision 15838+.

Tested with 18850 - all OK.

Module removed and restored to plan.

Thanks again!

Robert
