MGV50 + RRcirkits Locobuffer

I received my MGV50 and assembled it without issue.

So now I have to make some cables and provide some sort of power to it.

Based on what I see in the schematics, it appears that +15 VDC has to be applied to the GCA 50. It also appears that the +15 volts is supposed to come from the Loconet connector. Since the RRCirkits Locobuffer does not supply power to the Loconet bus, what else do I need to make this work? Do I need a different Locobuffer or a Digitrax CS?

Hello Richard,

Also Loconet (and so is RRCirkit) provides power for LocoNet modules.
It is the railsync , also used to provide the signal or DCC Booster(s).

All you have to do is make a cable, one side RJ12 connector for RRCirkit and other side D-Sub9 female connector for GCA50.

It is connected as follows :

RJ12 Pin#............... D-Sub9 female pin#.....................Function

1......................................not used.............................. --
2.........................................1.......................................GND
3 + 4.................................. 3..................................LocoNet
5.........................................6.......................................GND
6.........................................5...............................Railsync power
