GCA-PI03 JP1 settings?

GCA-PI03 JP1 settings?

Hi! I'm a bit confused by the manual. I'll only have a couple of servos and LEDs connected for now, so I guess I can pull everything directly from GCA-PI06. If so, it says to connect all three pins together, I was thinking to just use a jumper wire and solder it.
But in the manual it says that you can also draw 5V from RJ12 when setting it in position 1?

Option 1:
Supply coming from GCA_PI06 only.
Connect all three pins of JP1 together.

Option 2 :
Supply for electronics with GCA_PI06.
Power 5V for servo separate.
Connect GCA_PI06 with RJ12 cable.
Connect 5 V for Servo to V5.
JP1 in pos 1 : IO 01 / IO 02 get 5 V from RJ12 connectors
JP1 in pos 2 : IO 01 / IO 02 get 5 V from V5 connector.


So what's the difference in connecting all three pins, vs putting it in pos 1? Both seem to pull power from GCA-PI06, not requiring an additional 5V source?

Please, anyone?

I see three different modes:

Pin 1 + 2 (Power from RJ12 connector)
Pin 2 + 3 (Power from V5 (USB) connector)
Pin 1 + 2 + 3 (GCA-PI06 gives power to all)

What is the difference between the first and last??
Both are through RJ12 right?

I connected all and uses just the pi06.

I don't think so...
With option 1, everything is coming from GCA-Pi06 (RJ12). The same with Option 2, jumper on pin 1 and 2?

JP1 in pos 1 : IO 01 / IO 02 get 5 V from RJ12 connectors

I think that position 1 means pin1 and pin2, position 2 means pin2 and pin3.

Ah, I think I get it.

In both pos 1 and pos 2 there is NO power for servos? You will have to connect directly to the Adafruit board?

And with all together the adafruit gets power from PI06 as well!

Sorry, I didn't know that Adafruit had its own power connector, it's the only card I haven't got yet.

I got confused because I thought the two other alternatives also gave power to the servos, meaning that Pos1 and all three would be alike. Bu
