starting the Rocrail Server as daemon is a relict from the past. Under Windows I removed this option years ago.
The server should run in user context only.

Luckily it still works. Working on a headless machine is a great feature. It allows the user to run the software on a small headless PC like some Raspebery Pi, intel NUC or similar and control the layout from a tablet/PC/mobile app.

Yes, you're right, but this is a "corner case" and you are more or less "on your own".
Maybe it will be better if Rob take out the daemon part from installer and offer it as a separate download, leaving in the user's responsibility the installation & configuration.

But this is just my opinion as "non daemon" user.
Even when I'm using Rocrail headless, on a Raspberry Pi, I don't use the daemon. I start/stop Rocrail (and shutdown the Raspi) per hand, from terminal (ssh from other PC).
Never tried it from the tablet, but i know that there are some ssh clients for Andorid.
