solved:SPROGII:no loco driving, with Gamepad no Power ONOFF

Postby ViktorHotel » 02.09.2009, 09:10

Hi Rocrailers,
I have two problems with my SprogII (ubuntu 8.04):

1) if using my gamepad to control the locos the Power Off and Power ON command for SprogII isn't send (with gui ok)
2) if driving locos with sprogII nothing happens, the F0 sometimes works (with a TAMS LD-W-32 and only F0 on not off with Uhlenbrock 76200), direction commands doesn't work.

Switching signals and turnouts works reliable,

Another test with JRMI (WindowsXP, same PC, same HW) shows that the Sprog2 works reliable with the two decoders.

-> With the same Hardware under Windows XP and Rocrail 1.3 Rev.735 the same behaviour.

This might be the bug in firmware of SprogII, but I don't know why loco driving with jmri works ?!

Volker

Hi Volker,

Gamepad:
The rocgui.ini does not contain a gamepad setup.

Sprog:
The rocrail.ini does not match your trace; You must set lciid="sprog-1" to get the loco commands redirected to the second command station.
The DDX should process the loco commands with your posted configuration.

BTW: Sprog-II is tested running Debian, Windows and Mac OS X; all works fine.
Best Regards, Rob.

Hi Volker,

ah, OK. You did set the loco IID to sprog-1.
Your setup matches the trace.

I did the SPROG test over and over again and seems to work OK. Are you sure the power is switched on for the sprog?
Best Regards, Rob.

Hi Volker,

I always using 128 speed steps with testing the SPROG, maybe the 28 speed step is not correctly implemented in the sprog library of Rocrail.

Hi Rob,

Thats it.
Setting the decoder steps to 128 solved the driving problem. The two locos now driving !!

Page 45 of SprogIIUserGuide:
"Speed Step Modes
Choose the speed step mode to be used by the SPROG throttle. The default
is 128 step, which is recommended for all recent DCC decoders."

Hi Rob,

Gamepad:
when sending poweroff with the button in rocview two commands "power off" and "power OFF" (one for ddx and for SPROPGII) are visible in server window

when using the gamepad only "power off" is visible(seems to the poweroff for ddx)

with poweron it's the same

from above:
maybe the 28 speed step is not correctly implemented in the sprog library of Rocrail

from wiki:
Limitations

*
Only the default speed step is supported for rolling road: 128¹

Is there a small gap for a bugfix ?
...or is the development for SprogII stopped ? If no, is it possible to fix the gamepad issue ?

sorry for my impatience

Volker

Hi Volker,

the development of sprog is not discontinued. I just committed a correction for the 28 and 14 speed step.

What the gamepad concerns: Track down in the forum one or more threads of gamepad problems. Mostly its a mapping problem; Every gamepad has its button codes arranged in an other way.
Best Regards, Rob.

Hi Volker,

OK, you have a point what the gamepad concerns.
Please add this issue at launchpad.net/rocrail

Hi Rob,
I placed and issue in launchpad.

I've read in other posts that you have not much time because of the MGV event in Venlo.
Many thanks for your support and I wish you success in Venlo.

The new flip bridge looks very cool. 8) For a picture of german flip bridge please look at
