Hello all,

due to some hardware problems with my "very old" CS2 (#60213) using more than 5 modules of S88(N) (known problem by Märklin - my CS2 should be modified), I have changed the direct s88-connection to an indirect connection via the new L88-Link (#60883) disburderning the CS2 as well from the readout of modules (event messages instead of polling - the polling ist done by the L88).

The existing six modules RM-88-N from LDT (not the total planned number as my layout is still in progress) are connected to the bus 1 giving them the addresses beginning with 1001 instead of 1. When the modules shall be evaluated by the CS2, the device id has to be changed from "Master of CS2" to the id of the L88-Link.

Is that configuration already supported by RocRail? If yes, how have I to fill out the configuration dialog of the feedback element, i. e. which address and bus no. shall I fill in?
In my opinion, it is not sufficient to change only the addresses adding 1000, because the Master-CS2-Bus itself is supporting addresses up to 1024, so there is even an overlap and these 24 addresses are not unique.

If no, when will the L88 be supported by RocRail?

Hi Udo,

in Rocview use "Control" / "Sensor monitor..." ( "Steuerung" / "Rückmelder-Monitor..." ) and see what happens in case of a sensor event.
You can drag the setting from the monitor and drop it onto a sensor in your layout :wink:

Hi Lothar,

thank you for the quick reply.

In the stable version of RocRail I am using there is no such menu entry.

But I have tried to create an event by shortcircuiting the two rails for a selected feedback sensor and RocRail was reporting the correct address "fb1066" (formerly 66 without L88).

So the CS2 is reporting the correct addresses beginning with 1001 obviously without any need to change the bus number.

there are no stable versions of Rocrail, only snapshots.
Please update to the latest before reporting problems or asking for help.

Hi Rob,

perhaps it has been not the right word. I had installed a complete deb-package on Linux (Mint) from here. This seems to be a somewhat older version of RR.

Is there another way?

If you are using the 32 bit version you can use the ubuntu12 package:

Nevertheless my question was not really related to RocRail but more concerning the CS2, i. e. which message it sends when a feedback sensor connected via L88 is activated.

Hi Rob,

in the meantime I have installed the newest version by compiling from sources.

Now I know that the field "bus" has to be filled out with the CS2 internal device ID of the L88 (in my case 124), as the sensor monitor reported also the bus ID.

After modifying all sensor entries, the signals in RocRail's layout are all shown correctly.

Hello Udo.
I've seen you incidence in the forum and I have a problem similar to yours. I understand that it works for you. The conclusrión, is not a problem Sotware, thenmy setup is not correct.
I have a L88 (60883) and S88 (60881) AC is on the bus 1, connected to a CS2. Seeing the layout of CS2 24995 see as the contact is activated to move the wheels of the train cars. But my problem is I can not see the sign on the Roc Rail. Can you help me, you can specify the parameters used in defining the Roc Rail configure the driver as the bus address and port for the signals.

Ok, once again in detail:

It is very simple.
You have to add the following information into the interface section of the sensor dialog box (accessible via Menu -> Tables -> Sensors):
Interface-ID: CS2 (no change here)
Bus: <ID-Number of the 60883> (same number as in the CS2 under "Devices" - mine is filed under #124)
Address: <Adress of sensor> (as described in the manual of 60883, starting with 1001 for s88N-bus #1, with 2001 for s88N-Bus #2 and with 3001 for s88-bus #3)
