Hi Rob,

this would be difficult. I will explain something:
I have a server module running what can communicate over sockets.
This server has included all the wireless driver necessary for the lok decoder, sensors, etc., also all the databases for the modules, the model time server (what have a realistic saison/sunrise/moon timer with position for the sun gimbal)
and the complete database and logic for the light system. (Syncronisation of the light with train events).

I can comunicate over the socket protocol, but the complete protocol isn´t public.

So, if you can add a solution for a "virtual" central, so that I can communicate directly it would be nice :-)

There are many ways to communicate with Rocrail:

RCP
or any other library which communicate over socket.
Best Regards, Rob.

Hi Rob,

many thanks for this hints. I found the RocNet protocol what can be implemented as a central. So, thats all, what I need, so I can add this protocoll to implement my server at the given address.
So, less work for both of us :-)

Hello Rob,

I got an user id on gitlab: 1778341

By the way, dcc++ seems to sound good.

I need to order an new arduino to try it because mine are dedicated to others projects.

Sincerely

Marc

>>Hi Marc,

to get access I need yout GitLab.com userID.

dcc232 depends heavily on the device driver and used USB-RS232 converter.
Use DCC++ instead based on a cheep Arduino.

>> Hello Rob,

It's a long time and I hope everythings is ok for you ...
Nice to see that Rocrail is still growing :)

Here is my demand:

I'm running under linux Debian 9 64bits.
Im' still using the ord3 from Peter by serial connection like at the good old time ...

I got some strange effects using dcc232 library. Seems to work normally at the level of ord but no commands effect on the locs.
I use a pci serial card, but i did the trick with usb-serial converter with same result.
With ddx library, it works like a charm, and under windows 10, because i have a dual boot, it works like a charm with both dxx and dcc libraries.
I wonder if i could have a specific problem with debian, i don't know what, i didn't detect real misfunction in the trace files.

So i would like to try to compile rocrail but it seems we need an access to the sources now.

Could it be possible.

Sincerely

Marc

Hallo Rob,

the current source access will be closed soon.
If you have source access you must register at gitlab.com and request permission for the Rocrail project.

Please motivate why sources access is requested.

Hello,

I would like to gain access to the source code.
Github user ID is petermill. The code I have written for OpPanel/BiDiB is on Gitlab.

Let me introduce myself. I am a retired French engineer in electronic. As my son model railway was an old analog MÄrklin I decided to go for digital but in open SW. At that time I discovered OpenDCC and with Wolfgang Kufer efficient support I have implemented M4 (ESU for MFX) protocol on it.
Now it runs also on GBMMaster and I have a Host in a board called OpPanel.

I consider building a kind of central station on raspberry PI3 including RocRail and the M4 SW, but with BiDib only one Host is permitted, that is why I would appreciate access to the SW and to any documentation that might be available.
Regarding BiDiB protocol I get support and info from Andreas Kutz.

Cordialement

Hi Pierre,

there are installers for Raspian, so why needing source access?

Hallo Rob,

Ich möchte gerne Zugang zu den Rocrail Sourcen. Für meinen Raspberry Pi zero.

Mein gitlab user: dde-bahn (dieter.demessieur@ewetel.net)

habe damals folgende Angabe von dir bekommen, haben auch immer funktioniert:
hier kannst du dich anmelden und Password ändern:
http://rocrail.dyndns.org:8080

UserID=dde-bahn
Password=zxxxxxxxxxxx

Clonen:
git clone http://dde-bahn@rocrail.dyndns.org:8080/r/Rocrail.git

Vielen Dank.

I konw the installer for Raspian and I already uses it.

Why source access?
As I have tried to explain, I wish to add to existing host in RocRail for BIDIB the M4 protocol and some other possibility in order to design a "kind of Central Station" including RocRail.

Is it clearer or do you want more info.

Regards
Pierre

Hi Pierre,

I would propose that you give me the BiDiB Protocol changes so that I can merge it in the BiDiB support library, so other people can also use it.
Best Regards, Rob.
