Hello Rob,

I'm using Rocrail with linux Mint and Raspberry Pi with DCC++. I'll appreciate having access to the sources.

Best regards,

Hello,
I’m jerome, nice to meet you all. I’m currently into the process of working on a custom OpenBSD distribution ( as a custom port tree / build system over OpenBSD kernel) , none mentionning i’m also working with NuttX for Embedded stuff .
Rocrail is a really nice piece of software and i wanted to bundle a release within my source tree in order to have the opportunity to make a package for both my OpenBSD and NuttX distros.

I also seen that you do not want the sources to be be publicly published, so I wanted to kindly request an access to Rocrail source and details on the behaviour you’d like me to have regarding the level and ways of access to the source.
With kind regards,
Jerome KASPER

Hi Jerome,

Rocrail does not have releases only nightly builds.
To add a snapshot as 'release' into your tree will make Rocrail static and it could be a snapshot with a major error.
In the past I also rejected to change the make and build process conform the Debian standard so they could bundle Rocrail with their releases.
Best Regards, Rob.

Hi rob,
thanks for your quick answer . For sure i'd like staying up to date instead of staying fixed to a release . Current main OpenBSD port tree have a rocrail port that download sources from launchpad , see http://openports.se/misc/rocrail
I have no will to make changes to the rocrail build system, i'd just like that my -private- packaging script might have access to the sources , even if they are external to my tree . Moreover that it would require a few patching to make it work.
Should i proceed like the current OpenBSD port and download a version snapshot from launchpad when building ?
regards,
Jerome

Hi Jerom,

there are no sources at LaunchPad any more.
I will make an account for you to make it able to pull the sources.
Best Regards, Rob.

I'm now porting DCC++ to the ESP8266 and it's mostly working but I have to look at or rewrite the DCC packet generation routine because of a stack overflow issue. It is already outputting a valid DCC idle signal :D.

Just a small remark:
Check my sources. I have already a working DCC Generation Solution for the esp8266. No need for ISR. My/Julians Solution uses the buildin spi.

Hi I just saw this thread and was interested, I just improved my esp8266 code for my static and mobile decoder (
https://github.com/dagnall53/ESPWIFIROCNET )
The mobile (loco) version sets up a command station in the esp 8266 and has motor control and forward and reverse lights.
I plan to some time change from a servo motor control to PWM but with the servo motor control with BEC it makes for a very simple loco electronics package.
No need for a dcc decoder in the loco... But no sounds either...

Presumably your approach will allow for use of a dcc sound decoder?

I would be interested to see if I could add that capability to my code..
Cheers

Right. I have developed a circuit board with an H-bridge. Further information here.

Yes. This works. Today a user has tested this approach:

Hello Rob,

It's a long time and I hope everythings is ok for you ...
Nice to see that Rocrail is still growing :)

Here is my demand:

I'm running under linux Debian 9 64bits.
Im' still using the ord3 from Peter by serial connection like at the good old time ...

I got some strange effects using dcc232 library. Seems to work normally at the level of ord but no commands effect on the locs.
I use a pci serial card, but i did the trick with usb-serial converter with same result.
With ddx library, it works like a charm, and under windows 10, because i have a dual boot, it works like a charm with both dxx and dcc libraries.
I wonder if i could have a specific problem with debian, i don't know what, i didn't detect real misfunction in the trace files.

So i would like to try to compile rocrail but it seems we need an access to the sources now.

Could it be possible.

Sincerely

Marc

Hi Marc,

to get access I need yout GitLab.com userID.

dcc232 depends heavily on the device driver and used USB-RS232 converter.
Use DCC++ instead based on a cheep Arduino.
Best Regards, Rob.

gesundes neues Jahr.

Ist es möglich den Quell code zu bekommen?

Ich würde mich auf eine Rückantwort freuen.
