I do not see any session time out problem in the trace; Every command coming from Rocview is processed in session 31 without any error.

I will try it this evening at home with the CANCMD if I get a session problem.
The demo layout runs for hours with two locos with CBUS CANCMD.

I tested with the original MERG CANCMD and one loco.
The session timeout does not occur and I can run it again after several minutes being idle because the "Keeper" thread keeps it alive like a CANCAB does.

I would like to help, but I do not see the problem.

Hi Rob,

Just one other thing before I leave you alone and go mad, all I am trying to do with rocrail is contol a loco from the on screen throttle, I have no plan, I have automation switched off.

Is what I am doing allowed or am I overlooking something ?

I can do exactly the same thing with jmri without any problem of time outs.

Hi Neil,

that what you are trying to do is what I did test yesterday.
Just controlling a loco with the Rocview throttle, wait a few mins and control it again without no problems.

Do you also have a CANCAB connected to the same CANCMD? If so, it could have stolen the session.

How do you determine that a timeout has occured? In your prev. traces there is nothing to see about timeouts or what so ever.

Hi Rob,

Success at last, my problem turned out to be the merg cbus firmware in the command station - now upgraded to latest version and Rocrail running smoothly - just the vertical learning curve to negotiate now !.
