CBUS meets LocoNet

Postby rjversluis » 25.08.2012, 12:00

The CBUS LocoNet bridge did became a lot of new features and can be use in combination with the CAN-GC3 as LocoNet compatible Command Station including service track:

http://wiki.rocrail.net/doku.php?id=can-gcln-en

Bi-directional loco info is also supported. (Lissy, Railcom(r), Transponding...)

Professional boards are ordered and is expected to be delivered in the first week(s) of September.

Hello to everyone
My name is Robert and I'm a new italian member to this forum.
I have a compatibility problem between the can-gcln and the LocoNet switchboard and the mark2 (throttel) of DccWorld.it (Nuccio Ranieri alias Buddace.) Let me explain: the commands given by the switch board and dispatch for throttel not work. Same command arrive to Rocrail but it doesn't interpret them in the right way. I do not know if it is a configuration problem about Rocrail or hardware compatibility. I hope you can help me.
Best regards
Roberto

Hi Robert,

why are you using a CBUS-Loconet bridge in a Loconet environment?

We have tested Digitrax and Fremo Freds with this bridge in combination with the CAN-GC3 command station.

[EDIT]
I would like to help but I cannot read Italian and I cannot find any link to mark2 throttle.
You should provide the protocol Mark2 is using to get a slot from the CS.
Best Regards, Rob.

I'm trying the technology can to see which is the best for my plastic. I'm using both the can-can-cgn3 the gcn1e as central interface pc and I wanted to use the harhware I told you I already have available. Unfortunately I do not know the protocol of mark2 because it is a closed project, but the switchboard I can provide schematics and hex file of the pic are public because here they are:

Hi Robert,

Nuccio can send me how his Mark2 works because I will not reengineer a HEX file. Or he can modify the CAN-GCLN sources; They are open.
Best Regards, Rob.

I have both Fred types tested; The old analog and the new digital one.
So if mark2 is based on Fred firmware...

No..MARK 2 is not fred based . I.E. for RX I'm using hardware serial :)
I use same "communication matrix" / flow chart described in fredi code.

Just make your firmware compatible with FRED; I will not modify the CAN-GCLN.
Make sure the CAN-GCLN is loaded with the latest version.

This list is not complete but represents version 1a.

Maybe your sniffer did catch a cold.
I used Rocrail as a sniffer and did see the GPON/GPOFF.

Here you can find the GCLN sources:
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~rocrail-ha ... s/cangcln/

Good luck.
