Re: Possible bug at rocnet.c

Hi Rob, I thought RN_MOBILE_PROT_MM was defined as 4 at rocnet-const.h (#define RN_MOBILE_PROT_MM 4) Thus 4+the protver -1 will be equal to: MM1 protver=1 as usually defined in ddx for instance prot=4 MM2 protver=2 as usually defined in ddx for instance prot=5 and so on... This will leave the code d...

Possible bug at rocnet.c

Hi there, I hope Rob reads this message. Unless I am misunderstanding something – apologies on that case - I have found a bug on the rocnet library, at rocnet.c. It seems the protocol code is not correctly parsed: The following piece of code will never return RN_MOBILE_PROT_DCC14 but RN_MOBILE_PROT_...

Re: Raspberry Pi 2

Hi partners, As most of you, I do not have a rpi 2 yet, so I am not going to be able to produce new instructions from the time being. However, I do know that everything should work without a problem. During the last week one of the members of the forum -BigNorm - have been trying to use rocrail in o...

Re: Welcome on the new Forum.

Hi Rob,

Thanbks for being so fast, but http://forum.rocrail.net/rss.php/ does not seem to be working... maybe the url has changed, but I do not see any RSS button at the board either.

Re: Welcome on the new Forum.

Congratulations for the new forum!!

Is there any way to subscribe and get an RSS feed? I was using it in the old forum.

I am trying with the subscribe mechanism per forum... but as far as I see there is not RSS.

Best regards,
Manolo

Hi there,

I am following also this AN:
http://ics.nxp.com/support/documents/in ... /an460.pdf

For the I2C use you are planning probably you do not need optoisolation.

Unfortunatelly, I do not have any code yet.

For clarification: 500mA from the 7805, not from the PIC.. to power both the MGV50 ant the interfaces.

Main problem is not on 200ma, 400 ma or 500ma at MGV50... but on 50ma on the rpi vs. 200ma (conservative) at the MGV50.

Hi Rainerk,

I am not an expert, but it seems to me that the MGV50 can provide 500mA (in total) .. and then the PIC pins sources/sinks 25ma each...

The rpi is managing only 50ma for ALL pins.

Hi Rob, Thanks for the reference implementation! I will try to adapt the use I make of the rpi to rocenet. It will take some time though, I am still working on the HW side. It seems rocnet now supports 24 functions.. so some of the extensions we talked time ago are already there (thanks again) BTW, ...

Maybe this is a question for Peter... Is there any way to adapt the loconet boards (MGV-50, MGV101 and MGV124) to CBUS? This could be interesting for those of us with such boards... I do not know if a replacement of the firmware and maybe some components is feasible. This could make easier the trans...

Hi Rob, I have tried using ddx (both with ttyAMA0 and ttyUSB0)... no good results. With the ttyAMA0 DCC signals are not possible... any indication on when the problem may be will be useful. I have extensevily documented the problem in the other post... With an USB converter, the signal is cut every ...

Hi there, For me it still makes sense. It is basically the same approach at with DDX... you also needed a booster. For all of us using ORD-3 or any other kind of booster, it still makes sense this raspics approach. Of course it will be hard to match the functionalities of new HW (still possible)... ...

Hi all, The HW I am currently using is quite simple, I am sure Peter has also considred it. Basically I am using the smallest ucontroller I have found with the largest RAm available (16f1825). The code is in C. I opted for Microchip insted of atmel because I am more used to microchip products... The...
