Re: A simple and cost effective sensor approach

For those who have followed this thread some updated information regarding the use of Infra red sensors. The sensor I used embedded on my HO layout can be found on E-bay and is a 3 pin one potentiometer sensor. s-l225.jpg I was lucky to have the lay out on a room facing North so the sun has not real...

Re: RR sudden exits on Raspberry Pi

Rob I am sorry for "Rockview" my misspell, I hope didn't cause any inconvenience to some. The dpkg method is not at user pages but as Tom said is in the "first steps". In that respect could mislead other users too, so it was good to become aware of. It may took me some days of frustration but since ...

Re: RR sudden exits on Raspberry Pi

Johannes this is what I did on the second install and as you say it works ok. But in the first install which uses the dpkg command and it is described as well in RR pages, does install and work as well but Rockview erratically exits. Using the method you describe I now have a stable install and I wa...

Re: RR sudden exits on Raspberry Pi

Well Rob, others, I think have found something. I have tried Rob's last suggestion but made no difference. Then searching the wiki and the forum I realized that there were two page with slightly different instructions to install RR in a raspberry pi. What I used first is in this page https://wiki.ro...

Re: RR sudden exits

Ok Rob, I will go again through the wiki in case I missed something important. I do not use the /opt/ folder for workspace, everything is set up on/home/pi. Still I like to mention that, if I use Rockview on another pc, RR stays rock solid here as well. In this last case the only difference I see is...

Re: RR sudden exits

Rob I use RR for windows for about two years now. I have a HO scale with Marklin stuff fully automated. So I am somewhat familiar with the program. I like to use raspi for the size benefit on my small n scale layout. So far I am trying to use both server and rocview on the same rpi. This is definite...

Re: RR sudden exits

Hi Tom I realized that while installing the latest built "rocrail-14173-raspbian-stretch-armhf.deb" and all the stuff I saw in the trace file sent are in the default demo plan. Unfortunately this is a minor issue. The main problem still remains that the rocview exits even while just sitting on scree...

RR sudden exits on Raspberry Pi

Hi everyone I am running RR on a rpi version 3 (rocrail-14140-raspbian-stretch-armhf.deb). The program works but quite a few times while editing things, like blocks, sensors etc, RR exits without a sign or warning. Unfortunately nothing is recorded in trace file and the only solution is shutdown fir...

U.S. Loco icons

Hello everyone. I have started lately a small basic N layout using DCC++ with arduino and Motor shield. RR works fine (still only run basic functions) but I can't find any U.S. Loco icons to use (My N locos are all US). Does anyone has a source with icons from US locos; Regards and Thank you in adva...
