Re: Moving trains up a storage yard

It certainly is Peter - all I have is my iPad to play with and a PAYG MiFi for internet access when I can get a signal.
The joys of moving house between countries.

Re: Moving trains up a storage yard

That looks to be exactly what I need Rob I haven’t translated smitt48’s page yet to fully understand it but it looks as if I could replace each of those track blocks 2-6 with the intent of that in Robs staging page method. All my stuff is in deep sea transit for a few more weeks so I have to rely up...

Moving trains up a storage yard

I have browsed the forum as I thought this had been discussed a long ago, but found nothing similar, nor can I find auto storage yards in the manual. In a new plan I would like to have a multi-track storage yard with room in each track for say at least three trains. The requirement is to automatical...

Re: Displaying the commands list...

Hi Rainer I realise the CS generates the binary to the track, but wondered how Rocrail sent the screen commands to the CS. I was just intrigued as to whether Rocrail worked along the same general method as this... https://rudysmodelrailway.wordpress.com/software/ Edit - having watched the video on y...

Displaying the commands list...

For my general interest only... In my trackplan I have the lower right hand window pane showing the list of commands that are being sent to the track. I wondered how these commands are being generated. Does Rocrail ‘sniff’ the DCC signal then translate the binary string into text or is the command e...

Recording operations - macros

I have looked at Macros in the documentation here https://wiki.rocrail.net/doku.php?id=rocnet:rocnetnode-setup-en#macro but I do not think it is the same as my understanding of the word. I want to be able to record manual operations in a macro so that I can play them back later as an automatic serie...

Re: Using 2 Hornby Command Stations

As stated in an earlier post the eLink worked but sent every command 5 times. My points are DCC but the decoders fire into a relay coil which then fires a CDU to the point solenoids, so you can count the command events on the relay clicks. Most odd. Rocrail of course echoes the commands and actions ...

Using 2 Hornby Command Stations

Hi I have Hornby Elite working locos OK on bus 1 and Hornby eLInk set on bus 2 for working switches, but I can't get it to work. Track plan health check says eLink is non existent ID. I have looked in the manual but cannot find much about setting up 2 CS except that bus needs to be ID'd. I have chec...

Layout Command Control by NMRA (OpenLCB, MERG)

Hi I just found this, wasn't quite sure which topic to post it in, but I wondered what the forum membership's thoughts were: http://www.nmra.org/sites/default/files/standards/lcc_faq_handout.pdf How does it differ from the usual separate track bus and accessory bus system. JMRI gets a reference so n...

Re: impossible to downlod the last win version

I have had similar problem with AVG telling me this type of file can be dangerous. If I click OK it bombs out of the download. If I click MORE I get the option to continue anyhow, which I always do and it always loads OK. I have never had any problems with Rocrail carrying any virus or malware, only...

Re: WORKAROUND: for Track Plan Background Colour Not Saved.

Hi Tom I was changing the trackplan background colour from the menu dropdown, but it was sometimes reverting to the default colour after a revision update and I knew from a long time ago there was the .xml workaround, but had forgotten the location. Now I will be able to use either and will write do...

How does Rocrail talk to a Railcom enabled decoder

I have several Hornby Sapphire decoder equipped locos which are RailCom enabled.
What additional kit if any do I need to make use of this capability inside Rocrail.
What can I realistically expect RailCom to tell me when operating inside Rocrail.
