Re: Backup system and RR licensing?

Thanks for the update. I'm just commissioning the second system but not got to more than installing latest RR. :coffee:

Backup system and RR licensing?

I am just about to build a duplicate system to run Rocrail which will not be used for 'production' normally. It will have an identical Rock64 board and disk drive. It will only have a standard 1920x1080 display rather than the 4K UHD screen on the 'production' unit. It is likely that the backup syst...

Unterminated S88 buss?

I had a problem with Rocrail which I could not understand. Rocrail was working but very slowly and the trace files were filling up with QueueOp reports very quickly. I couldn't understand what was going wrong. As I had a change of heart about fitting a Digikeijs DR4088 with S88 to my DR5000, using, ...

Re: ARM64 builds?

Further to the last, I don't have more info on the problem as yet. I did note that my syslog was full of these warnings and that may have been overload writing them. Jan 11 21:45:11 RR1 kernel: [98298.296381] "rocview" (9788) uses deprecated CP15 Barrier instruction at 0x5ed258 Jan 11 21:45:11 RR1 k...

Re: ARM64 builds?

Thanks Rob, I will look forward to updating. I don't know how you and your team find the time to do all those updates, answer questions and add features. Only a scan of google topics using the 'uses deprecated CP15 Barrier instruction at' search phrase pointed to this issue. It seems that many appli...

ARM64 builds?

I am using the Devuan ARM64 build 14727 (on Debian ARM64 with systemd) but this now seems to have gone from the Sunrise builds. Is it a permanent removal? If ARM64 is not to be supported then some alternative arrangements will have to be made here. Running the Rasbian 32 bit version on ARM64 archite...

Re: Kato crossover

Further to my last, I was looking through my main plan for reasons unconnected with this subject, and I see that the Rocrail analyser does some interesting things to switches and crossings, generally <stlist>.. <st>blah</st>..</stlist> which is probably why my uncontrolled crossings show routings. C...

Re: Kato crossover

Hi Richard, Sounds like a rough day en Normandie! Don't send it over La Manche, we don't want it! I havn't looked at your plan yet but I make the following unqualified comments about the crossover. I also have multiple switch actions which results in a short buzz in the Kato crossover. I'm sure that...

Re: Kato crossover

Hi Richard, Sorry, I have only just go round to doing my reply. I am sure that Tom has covered this thing better because he will be far more experienced in Rocrail! I had only extracted and uploaded the bits of my plan (which in my case is Orscha.xml) that I thought were relevant. The <aclist> shoul...

Re: Kato crossover

I also have a Kato double crossover (and a couple of singles too). I found a snippet of example code in the Wiki but I cannot remember where. I also used raster graphics to display this crossing. My crossing works for me by clicking on any of the four individual switches on the plan display. I attac...

Re: Rocrail and 4K screens?

I have just replaced the HD 1920x1080 monitor with a 3840x2160 UHD monitor. Rocrail seems to work satisfactorily. My rubbish track plan can now be displayed at 100% zoom, which is a big benefit. First impressions are that the text in the ancilliary frames is small though crisp. I may have to enlarge...

Re: Duplicate Decoders or Consisting?

Thanks Bernd, Yes, I thought of turning off Railcom after I originally posted but I still feel that duplicate decoders might be a problem. I will go for the consisting solution though. Incidentally, I do not want to de-motor one of the units as I expect it to haul a K5 railgun which is heavy! Ta muc...

Duplicate Decoders or Consisting?

I am going to fit decoders into an old Roco N-scale V.188 dual diesel locomotive. One decoder is overloaded trying to power two motors. This is not a Rocrail problem. I have fitted one of the two units with a Lenz SilverMini+ in place of an old LE011. However, under full load, the decoder cuts out w...

Bernd,

Good point. I will try actions out. Shows how green at Rocrail I am! :) Tony

Re: Operating Complex Signal Decoders

Bernd, Yes, resetting the secondary states is what I need to do after the primary signal address is set to red. That is what I will have to script for. I don't understand why the decoder software doesn't do that automatically. Maybe a decoder bug or something to do with 'connected' signals ahead and...
