Sensors - alternatives to track sections

Now that I understand a bit more of the role of blocks in RR, I would like to add more blocks to my layout. However I am using Uhlenbrock 63320 train detection which is faultless but requires me to disturb existing track in order to add isolaters and current feeds for new blocks. Is there another me...

Re: First attempt at Automatic running has problems [✔]

Had it all done and ready to go unless you said it would not work.

It works perfectly!

Now that I am beginning to understand how Blocks work, I can see that RR is hugely flexible and the possibilities are enormous. What a beautiful system design!

Thanks for your help

Re: First attempt at Automatic running has problems [✔]

Firstly, have I attached the correct plan this time - it should have 6 blocks? 1. I have implemented your first suggestion by making block 04 accept LTANK loco only (include). 2. However, I think I can satisfy both my requirements by making LTANK a commuter train and (instead of 1. above) specifying...

Re: First attempt at Automatic running has problems [✔]

Having successfully got my initial plan working, it has now been extended. See attached Plan. The loop show at the top of the plan is quite separate and can be ignored for this post. The branch line runs in to the main line stops and reverses out again - this is intended to remain unchanged. The mai...

Uhlenbroch 63320 detection and lighted passenger cars

I would like to run a passenger train with lighted cars in automatic mode.

How will RocRail react to multiple "Enter" Events before and even after the "In" Event? And then multiple "In" Events?

Chaos or OK?

Richard

Re: First attempt at Automatic running has problems [✔]

Hi Again Tom I have added a new route to my plan (see attached) It works but does not reverse and repeat itself. I reread your previous comments and you said " the loco will auto reverse due to "terminal settings". I think this is my problem. What are terminal settings and how do I access them? Rega...

Thanks Tom

How do you get to the Actions Control screen - I have looked everywhere with no success.

Re: First attempt at Automatic running has problems [✔]

Hi Tom Thanks for your wiki - that should keep me busy for quite a while - reading and experimenting. The depth and elegance of RocRail is just beginning to be apparent to me. Having said I was OK with the concept of Loco "Placement", I think I might have been a bit hasty . Does the "Placing"...

Re: First attempt at Automatic running has problems [✔]

Thanks Tom LTank now performs correctly and, along the way, I got to understand the significance of "Placement" because I usually run LTank tender-first. Still grappling with "Speed". Is it associated with a Block or a Route or an Event (eg Enter or In) In Australia we don't seem to use the Mr Green...

Re: First attempt at Automatic running has problems [✔]

Hi Tom RocRail continues to perform faultlessly with FGoods engine but there are a couple of minor issues with another engine (LTank). With LTank, after each stop (ie speed = 0) - although all the other actions are performed correctly - the engine does not restart and needs manual intervention to se...

Re: First attempt at Automatic running has problems [✔]

Hi Tom It all works perfectly! (I had a bit of trouble getting engine placement and engine direction sorted out but I am sure I will get the hang of it.) You said it, "It should run until you are tired off it." I don't think I will ever get tired of it :!: Time for me to become a RocRail subscriber....

Re: First attempt at Automatic running has problems [✔]

Hi Again Tom Step 0a, 0b and 0c - all done All remaining steps completed and the results were exactly as you predicted. :D The plan works correctly including switch changes as required. Thanks. Now to try it with the physical layout and the real engine. What is the proper way to launch Auto Mode? Do...

Re: First attempt at Automatic running has problems [✔]

Hi Tom

My post "Engine does not reserve/free blocks as it travels and finally has to be stopped manually." Was in reply to a post by another person and was not directed to you.

I will follow the steps you have laid out and reply to each of your questions.

Sorry for any confusion.

Regards
Richard
