PT & Tams MasterControl

Post by fanky » 04.05.2010, 00:22

Hello.
I have a Tams MasterControl central unit (EasyControl) and use the RocRail library P50X but when use the PT I find some errors on the serial port and I do not able to read/write the CV. From then the communication with the central unit is not more working and must restar RocRail. I have since in the documentation there is a reference to a link on purpose of the PT with TAMS that but does not work.
The link is :
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.ph ... tid=501346

Someone can help me?

Hi Fanky,

I am using TAMS too and today I did try the first time to use the programming track together with rocrail and it failed also. I am using the latest rocrail snapshot and latest firmware for my TAMS Easy Control. I will attach a trace file which contains the errors. Maybe somebody can have a look at that to get a idea about this issue.

Best regards
Andre

We hope. I have tried to also contact the Tams for this problem and they have told me that to the moment don't support RocRails ... :(

Hi Rob,

thanks for your Info. I did try all that (reading without pushing the PT button, checking PT or not) but all without success. It looks like, that the workaround is not working anymore.

Best regards
Andre

Ask Tams to give information on how to program mobile decoders.
The p50x protocol defines how to and that works with IB and OpenDCC.
I will not contact Tams.

Hello,

AFAIK, p50xb is not implemented in the tams EC (at least this was the status im 'tams release notes 1.4.5m'), programming is done with p50xa only. Is rocrail operating with p50xa or p50xb?

Hi Wolfgang,

Rocrail only uses p50xb.

Does Tams need a mixed salad of both?

Hi Rob,
I fear so ... as stated above: programming is done with p50xa only. In 'tams release notes 1.4.5m' at the end there is a list of commands supported by the Tams. And you are not the only one, who run into this trap.

Hi Wolfgang,
programming is done with p50xa only
that is a pity; We must wait until Tams implemented the p50xb commands.

@allTamsOwners: Complain by writing an email to Tams.

Hi,

yes I will complain to TAMS but so far I can see TAMS do not like to support Rocrailers. Maybe somebody knows a commercial software which can not use the programming feature. This would give a little bit more pressure to TAMS.

Hi,

if there are enough Tams users who would like to see the programming working I will create a Tams library which will use the p50x for all except the programming of decoders.

Hi Andre,

I will create it anyway if you are willing to test.
There is not so much work involved to create it.
