Who has an Intellibox and uses the latest Rocrail snapshots?

Please report if you can or cannot use a current snapshot with the Intellibox and the p50x library.
Best Regards, Rob.

Hi Rob,

here are the test results from the last two days with my IB:

- p50x lib comes up with a communication error as soon as I switch power on

- with IB lib I can control trains and do get proper feedback from S88, but I
see 'Error reading feedbacks ...' quite often in the console

- p50x with an OpenDCC allows me to control trains without any problem.
Feedbacks are not reported at the moment, but I think that's another story

Hope it helps,

Dirk

Hi Jean-Michel,

Dirk is so kind to lend me his IB for a while so I can test and correct the p50x library.

The IB is still a much used CS and I want to make sure Rocrail supports it without any problems.
Best Regards, Rob.

Yep of course! Maybe you can have a look at the code in lines 1018. How do we implement this events? Extra thread for every? There are more events to ask for, for example loc speed and direction etc.

OK, I fixed the problem.
The read timeout did not function, and the IB is very slow at answering some requests with an OK byte...

I will try it now running XP... :?

What is happening if you reactivate the turnout event?

I will test this evening, but I think it will not disturb the communication.

Does the fixed p50x works OK with OpenDCC?
Best Regards, Rob.

Hi Ksor,

welcome to the board and community!

Yes, I think Rocrail is nice tool to control your layout using the IB.

Quite a lot of users (including me) do control the IB with Rocrail. Just choose the P50x library and control your layout.

Best regards,
Dirk

Hi,

Welcome on the forum.

I have a twincenter (and a hornby elite), which is, as you probably know, a ib with fmz protocol instead off mm. I run it with the p50x library (both under windows and linux) and I can do whatever I want to do with the tc/rocrail combination. Some things take effort to work out and find how things work exactly.
If rocrail is something for you is a question that only you can answer, but:
- rocrail is free
- rocrail supports a lot of hardware
- there is an active community with plenty of people willing to help (but do not be surprised if an answer to an easy question is just a link to the wiki, the documentation of rocrail where most answers are stored, http://wiki.rocrail.net/doku.php?id=english&DokuWiki=34979690b70d4d490ff5608a7ce874ed).
Other people in the community will, when needed, make changes/updates/new features should the need arise.

Hope this helps a bit.

Best regards, Ronald
