The new Lenz library

Postby jeanmichel » 29.04.2008, 10:45

maybe there is a little confusion about the new lenz library. So I decides to open another thread about it to clear things up:

- It is included since the last snapshot svn2644 from last weekend.
- The adressing is now absolutly NMRA-DCC conform (starting with 1).
- It is definitly working with the LZV100 and other Lenz hardware.
- The direction of the locs is changed since that snapshot.

- There seems to be a problem with Hornby hardware but Hornby is not Lenz and I can't test it.

Regards
Jean-Michel

Maybe the Flat addressing will solve the Hornby Elite problem....
Best Regards, Rob.

New snapshot and Lenz libraries with S88XpressNetLi

Postby pmansvelder » 16.01.2010, 15:04

Hello Rob, Jean-Michel,

just some experiences I want to share with you:
I have been trying the latest snapshots of both the server and client version, revision 1125, with the debian snapshot on my server which controls the layout, using a S88XpressNetLi interface (which is supposed to be compatible with the Lenz Li100 interface) on a serial interface, and the Mac OS X Snow Leopard client on my MacBook.
Asides from some interface issues, the most serious issue I encountered probably has to do with the new Lenz libraries: At startup and with every command I send, I get the message:

20100116.130144.536 r9999W transact OLenz 1403 timeout=25 dataAvailable=0
20100116.130144.546 r9999W transact OLenz 1163 Resend last command...

Even when the initialisation with the new libraries seemed to go well:

20100116.130138.505 r9999I main OControl 0807 initDigInts lib="lenz" idd="S88XpressNetLi"

20100116.130138.507 r9999I main OSerial 0213 rocs_serial_open: set CRTSCTS
20100116.130138.507 r9999c transact OLenz 1088 Transactor started.
20100116.130138.508 r9999I initiali OLenz 0382 Initializer started.
20100116.130138.508 r9999I transact OThread 0135 Current thread priority is 10 policy=SCHED_RR [0] [OK]
20100116.130138.507 r9999I main OControl 0859 initDigInts OK

The effect is that after a few commands the layout stops responding, and I can't control anything anymore.
I went back to version 1.3.99 of server and client, I hope this helps...

P.S.: Great work with iRoc! I love it!

Hi Peter,

you just cached a bad working snapshot what the lenz library concerns.
This revision of the lenz was not intended to be published, but you know: Open Source. ;-)

I will provide a new snapshot for Snow Leopard.
Best Regards, Rob.

New snapshot and Lenz libraries with S88XpressNetLi

Postby pmansvelder » 26.01.2010, 17:17

Hello Rob,

I just got round to trying out the new snapshot of Rocrail, version 1.4.999-rev1170, and I am very happy!
Together with the new iRoc application for my iPhone, this is a completely new world for me: wireless control, and an application which works flawlessly now!

Kudos for all your good work, this is really more than I expected.

Peter
