Digikeijs DR4088RB with z21

Digikeijs DR4088RB with z21

Postby Habilis » 14.12.2017, 17:53

Hi,

I have conected a Digikeijs DR4088RB to my line to get occupancy detection.

I can sse it on the Z21 maintenece console R-Bus - ( Adress 1 - Module 1 ) and I can see it change when I cange it in the track.

But I can not get the same change in Rocrail. -
In Rocrail just changed in Tables-sensors-interface - Just changed "Adress=1"

Do I have to change anything else ?

Thnks in Advance.

first have you programmed it as 2 modules in z21

in rocrail Set sensors from 1 to 16. Remember to restart rocrail after you have set the adresses.

The rb module also needs to be connected to trackpower. Very importent keep distance between sensor cables because of inteference and malfunctions

Hi Antonio

I completely agree with keeping the sensor wiring away from the track power, bit also keep them as short as possible and use individual wires no multi-core wiring for sensors. You can keep them short by locating the 4088's into the layout itself.

ECOS displays the sensors in rows of 16 sensors and each row represents the next S88+ unit.
I am using these Digikeijs units with S88+ on ECOS ESU and found that above 16 I need to keep going on with the port numbers.

So by way of example sensors 1 to 16 is Address 1 and port numbers 1 to 16, the next one is address 1 port numbers 17 to 32 in Rocrail where the first channel on the DR4088 is in Rocrail port number 17. I have up to now wired up 64 channels and they work without fail.

Not sure how this Z21 works but you may find you have to keep reallocating multiples of 16 for each unit like I did for ECOS.

Hi,

I am having difficulties getting the detection to Rocrail.

I have connected the DR4088BR. When the train gets in the line (Block1 ) the red led blinks with the presence of a train ( this indicates that detects which is right).

z21 maintenance tool in R-BUS window -R-BUS status Module 1 - Changes from 0000 0000 to 0000 0001 - this is correct and it indicates that train is detected on Block1

in Rocrail nothing changes. I have the following configuration in the sensor
tab general - show and operate are ticked
tab interface -
Bus - 1
Address - 1
Type sensor
Options
reset ticked

Nothing else changed.

What can I be doing wrong ?????

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

did you check the sensor monitor?

Yep,

does not appear nothing on it.

Only appears if I click on a sensor on the lay out.
But If a train passes on the track, the z21maintenence - changes from 0000 0000 to 0000 0001 but in Rocrail I get no info.

What could it be ?

Another thing that I noticed, rocrail is not importing the voltage and current from z21, and all the buttons on the bottom right are red -
when the mouse is over them they state - Plan Health; Power, Communication; Sensors; Acessory- All red only Auto mode green. although I can comand the trains and some switchs...

It seems that the UDP, which is the Z21 communication way, is blocked by your firewall.

Thank you very much.
This was exactly the problem, you were 100% right as always....
Now just have to configure the firewall for rocrail, protocol UDP ?

and the the switchs that also are not recognized..
