Proposal to upgrade "issue" process

Post by smitt48 » 29.11.2018, 14:01

Hi Rob,

An upgrade to the "issue" files would be good.
I happened to me the other day that the issue.trc file only contains a small amount of data.
My proposal is to attach also the next-to-last trc file to the "issue.zip" file.

Thanks Tom

Hi Tom,

yes, this would be an improvement.
I will check this.

Hi Tom,

in the issue all server trace files will be added. Its only text, and zipped its just a few byte more.

Hi Rob,

Another thought, can we select the trc files with the same timestamp, to prevent receiving "old" trc files?

Thanks Tom

Hi Tom,

I could sort the list by time and date, und select only the last two new trace files.
But lets try it first with all files.

Hi Rob,

I tested with 14620 (Win10-64) and the issue file did not have any trc file.

Plan, if needed, available upon request!

Hallo Tom,

just tested under w10-64 with the same revision as you: All trace files are in the ZIP file.

I do not see a write statement for the trc files.
But I see add trace file with a "strange" path "/./C:/etc", while the issue file is in "C:\etc"

Hi Tom,

can you provide your workspace for testing?
I cannot reproduce your problem.

Hi Rob,

Workspace "handihomann". The same problem with another test workspace.

/Test/handihomann//rocrail.001.trc has // in path name.

Hi Rob,

The trc files are now all in the issue.zip file.

One request, is it possible to maintain the original datestamp in the zip file? It will make it easier to select the relevant files, otherwise you have to look in 10 files to see which file(s) you need. Here all the files are in order, but practice has shown they could be in any order.
(another idea is to sort the trc files and add them to the zip in "latest date" first, order.

Hi Tom,

OK, good Tip.
Please try it tomorrow if it works under Windows too.
