Current experience with HSI88-USB and Windows?

Postby PatSte » 07.03.2014, 22:18

Hi all,

I should have read the forum first ... yes I know!

Anyhow, I am now an owner of a HSI88-USB which I would like to connect to my Windows XP system.

The Dialog-Screen for HSI88 does let me select LDT-USB which I assume to be the driver from Littfinski? Will I still have to select a COM port or is that ignored for USB?

Thanks for helping out!

Hi Rob,

I did, that's how I found that I should have read it before getting the USB Version ... :-(

Still my question remains on what to enter as a device? the
Code: Select all
\\.\HsiUsb1
looks very Linux-like to me, or is it also for Window?

Thanks a lot for your help and support!

The Wiki says: Windows ONLY;

This will never work with other operating systems then Windos.
The device in the Wiki Example is for.... Windos.

Thanks Rob,

sorry for asking again ... starting to feel a bit stupid ... but the dialog doesn't allow to enter this "device" file. Is it me or a bug?

I have attached a screenshot of what I get as a dialog, which does differ from the one in the wiki.

Thanks again!

Patrick

You can just overwrite the text; Its a combobox -> Edit field and choices.

OK, ok ... now I feel officially stupid!

Will give it a try or try to trade it in for an Serial version.

Thanks!!!
