Info for Wiki editors working with Chrome

Post by RainerK » 27.03.2018, 01:20

Hi together,

for about two weeks, the editing of wiki pages in the Chrome browser is a very annoying thing,
because the "Preview" is in 99% of cases blocked and the message "ERR_BLOCKED_BY_XSS_AUDITOR" is displayed.
After saving the page with "Save", everything is OK.

In the web I found this solution:
The blockage and error message can be disabled by adding "--disable-xss-auditor" as parameter in the command line or shortcut.

Example:

Code: Select all

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable-xss-auditor
It works well for me and I can work as usual :coding:

I wish You success :!:

Remark: A short info and a link to this post did added in the header of the Wiki main userpage

Hi Rainer,

Interesting, I use Chrome (on Win64) and never had a problem!

Just in case, where do I have to change the parameter of the executable?
chrome.PNG
In chrome.exe properties?

Thanks Tom

Hi Tom,

AFAIK there is not possible to add a parameter.
So You need to create a shortcut and there is a field with a full qualified call of Chrome.
There You need to append the parameter like in the Example in my post above.

Unfortunately I can't attach a screenshot from the Shortcut properties,
because this post I wright on a Android smartphone.

Hi Rainer,

I created a new shortcut with the "new" parameter, just in case.

Thanks for the info!

Tom

Hello Rainer!

I work with Chrome 32 on Win7 64 and never had such a problem though I recently edited my userpage.

But thank you anyhow!

on my PC (Win 10 64bit) the Chrome setup show the identical information: Chrome Version 65.0.3325.181 (Offizieller Build) (64-Bit) :?
