<smalltalk

Sorry??
And please keep in mind this poor guy in a foreign country
The last week of April we were with a Dutch friend of mine who now lives in Stuttgart, where I spend 6 hours a day with young Bram in the large indoor swimming pool. Over here we are jealous of Dutch people who can live in Germany.

I'll have a glass now to drown my jealousy (double  ).

Cheers, Ronald

<serious again

To all coming.

I can imagine that there may be a wish to discuss/research/investigate a Rocrail specific topic during the meeting.
There are some things that I can facilitate, such as test tracks in IIm, h0 2 rail (somewhere in my life I lost the ovals of old Märklin and Trix 3 rail track) and N, a computer with a specific version of Rocrail running windows xp or ubuntu, web access, workbench with multimeter/power supply/tools/decent soldering iron, DCC/Selextrix/FMZ command station and probably more. However, such things need preperation, so if anybody has specific needs, I would appreciate an "early warning, since on the day itself I am quite busy "hosting" (any volunteers for "meat burning"???).

Best regards, Ronald

Coming to Hoorn

Hello Ronald,

I´am interested although I did not have Rocrail installed yet, but the PC for it is arrived!! So first I have to start and learning from the beginning.

But I hope to learn a lot from experienced people and probably find some Rocrail fellows in my neighbourhood.

So count me in.
Kind regards,
Rutger

I Cannot Attend

Post by mrex » 03.06.2009, 02:45

Hi Guys,

I hate to say it, but pressing economic problems are going to prevent me from attending this event. Please understand, this was my planned Vacation for this year, but I must cancel it.

I feel terrible.

Please forgive me for backing out now, but I must watch my bills and cover my upcoming expenses, and they include some unexpected *Big Items*, like new computers and a Virtual Server.

In addition, the dollar is very weak now, and even though flights are cheap, expenses will be high. And the recession doesn't make anything easier.

I love you guys, all of you, and I really want to come over and meet you all, see some *incredible* Modelbahns, and also just talk about why it is that we do this, running Rocrail and playing with trains. And I want to pay for the beer.

But I must put it on hold as I navigate through these rough times.

Rob, Christian, Dirk, Ron, Tobbe, Sergio, and all the rest of you, I am thinking of you every day, and I really will come sometime soon and buy you all a beer. However, for now I must stay on the other side of the pond this summer.

Signed,
Broke New Yorker

Hi Mark,

I'm sorry to read that you cannot join the event, but you already informed me about the troubles by IM.

Another opportunity will come in the future and you are always welcome to join!

I wish the hard times will be over soon for you.

Keep your head high and use your spare time to enjoy model railroading with Rocrail. :-)

Hi Mark,

I am sorry to read that you personally also suffer from these harsh economic times. But, when times become less bleak and you are in the Netherlands, keep in mind that you have an open invitation to drop by, just give a signal whenever there is an occasion.

Best regards, Ronald

Hi Mark,

even if everything is already said I also like to send my best wishes to NY city and maybe there will be another opportunity to have a beer together this year in this beautiful city. And if this will not be the case, I agree with Christian that there will be a lot of other opportunities later on!

Best regards from windy Hamburg,
Dirk :rr_cap:

Hi Ronald

a very good initiative, but unfortunately we are receiving a new kitchen on the 24th and i have to break out the old one and renew the floor. Think that Alexander will be a bit disappointed.
