See,

Now I always knew New York City was really its own Country. We're supposed to be part of the United States (De Veringeden Staten Van Amerika?) but we just don't fit in.

Personally, I think Amsterdam is closer to New York than LA. I mean, we don't care where you came from, or what your problem is, just pay us and shut up. And we'll give you stuff. If you paid. Its cool as long as you pay, we don't care about race, religion or color. The color we worry about is green.

Now, New York Slang might be cool. For example, instead of "Set Destination" it might "Get Yo Butt To". And instead of "Select Schedule" it might be "Yo Ass Late!". GHOST train exceptions would be "Move Bitch, get out the way!"

(Note for you Europeans: Your children probably already know this classic American rap song.)

But this would probably be beyond most English Speakers, unless they've ridden the New York City Subway. Or the trams in Amsterdam, where the language is different, but the meanings are the same.

Then it will make perfect sense.

:)
