Rocrail and 4K screens?

Post by apemberton » 02.09.2018, 13:02

With the reducing cost of 4K monitors, would there be problems running Rocrail/Rocview on such a screen? Would there be any advantage? Just curious! :?:

Hi Jan,
<name> is Tony!

I don't yet have a 4K monitor (a 2650 x 1080 is on another 'puter) but the Rock64 GPU Mali-450 is 4K capable (looking at the specs) so I was thinking out loud. Get a lot more panels on screen methinks!

I have just replaced the HD 1920x1080 monitor with a 3840x2160 UHD monitor. Rocrail seems to work satisfactorily. My rubbish track plan can now be displayed at 100% zoom, which is a big benefit. First impressions are that the text in the ancilliary frames is small though crisp. I may have to enlarge the font size if possible. Not sure what the impact on Rocrail performance will be in the longer term. Now that I can properly see the .svg signals I have been creating for my plan, I will have to modify them to get clearer graphics!
