Problems with Analyse after installing vers 3207...

Postby RAFHAAA96 » 27.01.2012, 13:35

Hi
I rebuilt my Train PC with Win 7 Home Premium edition and reinstalled Rocrail from my old pc archive, using vers 3181. All OK.
I have Rocrail installed in Program Files\Rocrail per default, but keep my Workspace in a separate folder in Users\me\Trains\Rocrail\Rocrail_Workspace.
The Hornby Elite is loaded with firmware v 1.4 and had been working OK when set to Classic mode as recommended by experience of other users.
If set to Standard mode Rocrail does not work the points.
I then updated to Rocrail v 3207. Again it seemed OK.
I used analyse to refresh my routes and after some activity in the server pane in Rocview it stops and a dialogue from Windows says the programme has stopped working and do I want to close it or look for a solution on line.
This is what is behind this dialogue - Problem signature:

I also attach my planfile, which still lists the old routes as the file has not been saved due to the crash and my ini files. The trace files of this session that I tried to attach have not attached and have disappeared from my Workspace folder.

Hi Rob,

can you do the same test with 3181?

[edit]
I did test your plan on a Mac OS X Lion with 8GB memory: No crash.
Best Regards, Rob.

Just use normal ZIP because 7zip is not supported on all platforms.

Hi Rob,

you can try alternatively the binary from here:
http://rocrail.net/software/rocrail-snapshot/
Its build with the mingw cross compiler.

Hi Rob
I loaded from the binary and analyse worked OK, so maybe there was a glitch in the unicode version.
Thanks, Rob

1.5Gb on 2 modules 1Gb & 512Mb.
PC has an IDE mobo running a 500GB SATA HD via an adaptor board plugged into the mobo ribbon cable slot.
Unconventional but one way to keep an old pc alive for running trains when IDE HDs are scarse to find.
