Bridge symbol

Post by ron&bram » 06.04.2011, 21:22

Hi fellow Rocrailers,

After giving some help with somebody's plan I got a little irritated about the representation of two tracks crossing over each other, so I made a symbol for it for the SpDrS60 theme. To use it, you need to add it as a switch, type accessory, accessory number 2 and leave address and port at 0 (the -on and -off are identical,I made them both just in case). By rotating you can decide what goes over what.

Hi Ronald,

thank you very much for the new symbol. I think a lot of people have been waiting for it, escpecially the newbies.

Hi Ronald,

maybe a symbol option for a normal track symbol would be better in this case, so you do not have to use a switch object.

I put this idea in the "wishlist".

Hi together,

with the new possibility of "track-#.svg" symbols I tried to use Ron's bridge symbol for this.
So I've converted it in the "occ" and "route" form, but I see a big disadvantage in the same illumination for the two crossing track's.

I think, it's better to use different symbols for the track's.

My suggestion is to use a new created symbol as a "half bridge" with the three variations as in the attached zip file.

The picture show as it looks in the track plan.

Another utilization for it is a alternate symbol for the connector type.
Possible is renaming the "track-2" files into "connector" files.
The advantage in this case is the functionality with the analyser.

Best Regards

Hi Rainer,

that is a good solution. :)
You could also create a new symbol to use between the two half bridges/tunnels.

Hi Rob,

I've some additional examples created, yet only drafted, not SVG.

The picture down shows:
#1 to #3 are based on my first suggestion and added with Your wish to connect the "half bridge/tunnel" between them.
#4 is compressed to one symbol.
#5 is Ron's original SVG bridge
#6 to #8 are based on it, but at the down crossing track I've erased the illumination field's.

Wishes and/or suggestions for changes are welcome :!:

Then I'll construct the wished SVG version's. :coding:

Best Regards

Hi together,

the bridge symbol, wished by Bert and Spacerunner, I've constructed as SVG named "track-3"
Please look the attached picture as screen copy from Rocrail
and zip file with the three variants (normal, occ, route).

Best Regards

Hi,

in recent versions track-2 (half bridge) and track-3 (bridge crossing) are supported by the Analyzer.

track-2 is treated as a "normal" connector
track-3 is a straight track in all directions

Regards,
Lothar
