[solved] loco direction in block symbol

Post by ron&bram » 21.02.2014, 14:55

With the new triangle showing the loco direction in the block symbol, I have the problem that the triangle overwrites the loc name in a small block symbol. I moved the triangle to the top of the block by changing lines 1819-1822 in renderer.cpp to

Code: Select all

 p[0].x = 3; p[0].y = 7;//reb changed 15 to 7
    p[1].x = 6; p[1].y = 10;//reb changed 18 to 10
    p[2].x = 6; p[2].y = 4;//reb changed 12 to 4
    p[3].x = 3; p[3].y = 7;//reb changed 15 to 7
Is this a good idea?

You are running large scale; Why using small blocks?
Can you provide a screenshot of the original rendering and yours?

Hi Ron,

placing the triangle to top or bottom might sometimes overlap with the block orientation indicator ("+") (see attachment). This might confuse others :?
On vertical oriented blocks we should also change the triangle position...

@Rob: What do you think?
Overlap loco name or overlap "+" ?
Or put the triangle a few pixels away from the end of the block (next to "+") ?

My answer: put the triangle next to "+" with 1 pixel distance to "+" and border -> You'll soon get a patch :wink:

I suggest to leave out the direction arrow or use small loco names when using small blocks; You can't win 'em all.
In short: I don't change it.
