Advice for new shadowstation requested

Post by agre30 » 30.09.2016, 07:41

Hi,
The first picture is my new shadowstation I'm building.
There are 6 tracks and each track has 4 or 5 blocks (marked by the green rails).

My question is how would you create a shadowstation, and why (see the printscreen):
- each track has 4 or 5 blocks with 2 sensors (enter and in) for each block.
- each track has 4 or 5 blocks with 1 sensor (enter2in) for each block.
- create 5 staging blocks, one for each track and divide it in to 4 or 5 sections.

I don't need BBT in the shadowstation and the speed in all the blocks is the same. Train lenght is about 1,5 to 2 meters.
And I want to work with block groups.

Thanks.

Albert.

Maybe "staging blocks" is a solution:

Hi Albert,

I would use staging blocks, flexible in train length and automatic advancing. If you use virtuel "enter" sensors you can save some money.

Thanks for the advise,
I investigated the options.
For me there is 1 drawback on using staging blocks: I can't see which train is where on the layout. I have to hoover the mouse over the staging block to see which trains are in de block.

Hi Albert,

check Holger, HDW_64625, his layout; He made all the locos in the staging blocks visible.
