SOLVED: Reversing loop with Block Side Routes

Post by maggi » 31.12.2010, 16:33

Hello

First of all thanks a lot for Rocrail it is simply great. :D

I have recently converted to Block Side Routes and using revision 2141.
The general both direction traffic works well, but I experience in Automode that locs do return also into the previous blocks.
Instead of going on to block b01- according the direction arrow in KS1 loc RTS wants to return to previous block b19+ again. (disregard occupation in b01)

I believed with Block Side Routes for each direction this should not happen. Not sure if now still some additional actions according http://forum.rocrail.net/viewtopic.php? ... sc&start=0 must be used or is it possibly a bug?

The shown Reversing loop KS1 (electronic from Stärz KS-PIC) can be used from both left and right sides but always with forward direction.

Swap placing post is used when the loc exits the Reversing loop in routes
autogen-[KS1+]-[b19+] and autogen-[KS1-]-[b01-] to [KS1-]-[b06-]

Please see attached trace and track layout.
Thanks for your advice/clarification and Happy New Year!

Hello Erwin

Thanks, but if I use no Swap placing post on exit routes then I'll see No destination found.
With present layout normal passing of the reversing loop is posible, but loc should not return to previous passed block.

If you use blockside routes, maybe can you send me your layout to find out how you did it?

Hi Hans Peter,

just two days ago I have uploaded the last version (xml), please look at http://forum.rocrail.net/viewtopic.php?t=1405: Block Wendeschleife...

Before v.1667 the 'reversing loop two' workaround with actions and outputs prevented the direction problem in automode when passing to the last block. - I have tried to describe it in http://wiki.rocrail.net/doku.php?id=rev ... oop-ex2-en.

Therefore my whole layout was converted to block side routes (cf. my xml-plan), and - what a success with Rocrail! - now the automode works sooo good! (formerly I have used schedules, nearly superfluous now) ...

With BlS-mode I have used routes only in forward dir, feedbacks all and all-rev no commuter blocks, only some terminal stations, and a 'counter' for a dir swap in block 01 ...

Many greetings,
erwin

Hello Erwin

Thanks a lot. I think I made the mistake using reverse direction in half of the routes in combination with block side routes. Meaning I'll have to change back all reverse routes to forward and try again.

Hi Hans Peter!
When converting to BlS mode, I also had to check all routes (no more: reverse, no more: both dir), only forw ...
But now everything runs perfectly in my layout!
Happy rocrailing!
