BTW the Mac OS X will hang with many data on the USB VCP:

I have the impression that the FDTI VCP is not very well implemented for OS X.

Why not connecting to the Ethernet interface? The CS2 has one on board...

Hi Rob

To answer your last question, I haven't a CS2 but one MS2 with its track box (no Eth, just 2 MS2 connectors).

Some historical reason of RR :When I bought the MS2 fiew years ago, I was a beginner in digital rail road, and the shop where I go has present it as a good starting. In fact it was good, but now I'd like to pass an other step. The financial investment is not small and I go step by step reusing all my materials. Recently I found the c.d.b. system and it was a good way to keep initial investment. I'm looking for Rocrail since the start (my first revision of RR is 3181). It seams to me the best public program with a lot of functionalities and it is customizable. Now that I have a computer interface it was the good time to support RR.

So if you can do something to help me I will be very pleased.

I will not further comment on the serial version of a clone of the Märklin MCS2 protocol.
It seems to work anyway for other Windows, Linux and Mac users.
Sorry, I have no clue what your problem is.

Next week-end I will try to conenect all my modules to the PC of a friend. So I will be cleared if the problem is with them.

I received test modules from Thorsten and I got the same problem as you reported.
I did a little optimising in revision 6204:

The communication looks OK to me.

Hi Rob

Very well. I'am glad that you can perform some improvement with the CCShnitte you have received.

On my side :
Next week-end I will try to conenect all my modules to the PC of a friend. So I will be cleared if the problem is with them.

I haven't make the test because my friend PC was KO.

I try to make a piece of software (it is not my job and I'm a beginner) which can read the the serial data. In the man page of termios I can read :

The CCTS_OFLOW (CRTSCTS) flag is currently unused.

Is tha a reason of the problem ?

Best Regards

Denis

OK, I'm sorry but Mac OS X only supports line speed max. 230400.
500000 will not work because its not standard.

In short: CC-Schnitte on Mac OS X will not work with Rocrail.

When I boot Ubuntu on a Mac the CC-Schnitte communication works OK with 500000 bps.
But the OS X does not support this baudrate. I also checked Mavericks…

I think it will not change anything. Apple haven't touch this component since the early age of Mac OS X.
