CS2 S88 Not Working

Hey Justin,

did you check the s88-modules like Uwe showed in his first picture? If this does not work, it does not makes sense to solve the RocRail /CS2 communication problem.

Check it at least for the first and the last sensor and a sensor for each Module.

Which s88-modules do you use? And how many? Are you sure you connect the modules the right way round (check the connector and input/output of the modules)?

Niklas

Hi Niklas

I have. I have fixed the communication between rocrail and my CS2, however rocrail does to recognise my S88. Also my C2 only register the first 16 s88.

I am using Viessmann 5217

Cheers

Have you checked the cable/connectors from your first to the next s88 decoder. It's easy to put the connectors in wrong position.

HI Rocrailers

Is there someone with a Maerklin CS2 controlstation , firmware 4.1.2.

My problem:
The S88 messages do not get into Rocrail
The recommended settings from the WIKI are not a solution
The S88 messages I can see on the CS2 station, so the sensors are OK, but they will not be put to Rocrail

question: do I have to see in the RR window server the activation of a S88-sensor ? in other words reports the CS2 the status of the sensors to Rocrail.

I understood from the wiki that Rocrail does not poll

i like your experiences or settings in the CS2 and Rocrail

Hello Jan,

CS2 Version 4.1.2 works well. But to help you, we need informations about your Operation System and you should attach your rocrail.ini and plan.xml file.

Ok Niklas01

a little bit late but i attached my issue

i am interested in the settings of the CS2 station

perhaps you can show me a picture of the settings

the communication from RR to the CS2 is OK, the switches work, the trains go, but the communication from the CS2 to RR fails.

When you turn the speedknop on the CS2 rocrail must show this but does not, when you change the switch on the CS2 , RR must show this changing.

Hi Jan,

In the Wiki you could read:
Sensors
The number of 16-port feedback modules connected to the CS2.

Sensor range
This sensor address range is used for query the state at “Start of Day” in case of a CC-Schnitte. Set to zero in case of a CS2.
For version 2 or higher.

Version
The version must be set to 3 for activating sensor event handling for firmware version 2.0 and higher.
The “Sensors” field will be used once on startup to get the current S88 status.

So you have to change the Sensor range from 0 to 0. Moreover, i don't think you're using 64 feedback modules. Change this number to 2 (since you have two 16-port feedback modules)

Since you wrote
When you turn the speedknop on the CS2 rocrail must show this but does not, when you change the switch on the CS2 , RR must show this changing.

i think you are using Windows 7 or newer and your firewall is not configured correcty. But first we would check your CS2 settings:

Here you could see a screenshot of an example:
http://rocweb.net/doku.php?id=cs2:cs2-en#configuring_the_cs2 (in German)
You could add a screenshot of your CS2 configuration to check the settings.

The IP-tab in the CS2 should be the following in your case:
169.254.117.245
255.255.255.0
169.254.117.1
169.254.117.1

CAN-tab:
broadcast
169.254.117.255 (with 255 at the end you make sure, that the CS2 can-messages would be send to all network devices)

What's the IP of your PC?

Hast du dieses gesetzt?

HI Rocrailers

Yes !!! it works

it took a little time but we meet each other once a week on the modelrailroadclub, so we could to day discuss and try solving the problem.

we changed the IP setting like you indicated but we also made some changes in the settings of the firewall, i am not sure of that was obsolutely neccessary bat that does not matter annymore.

Communication up and down to and from RR <> CS2 is OK , wonderfull

thanks a lot of participating in my problem
