Raspi as replacement for LocoIO in Ethernet.

The Raspi has every thing on board to become a universal I/O Ethernet module.
It has the capacity of 1.5 GCA50/CAN-GC2, 3 x a 8 pin header, and the piece of C-Software would be very easy for me to write.
This could open the way for the RocNet protocol and Ethernet under the MRR layout.

Because the OS is not real time the option of DCC command station is only possible with a library like DCC232:

Also a WEB interface is possible for configuration the RasPi...

Wouldn't it be better to take the BeagleBone Black ? The PRUSS (2x200MHz realtime CPUs) could easily generate the DCC, because it runs independently.
CAN is on board, RS485 is also possible. Please have a look at:
