Rocweb V2 Preview testing

Postby Norber » 20.05.2015, 10:24

I open this thread because I can't read German, so I miss all the info in http://forum.rocrail.net/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=9515.

My first question is why I get just this on Google Chrome 43 from RocRail 8933?

Google Chrome Version 43.0.2357.65 (64-bit).png

In Your very old Rocrail Revision Rocweb V2 doesn't exist.
So You need to update to the actual Rev. 9076 or higher next days

Well, I dindn't know I was using a very old version. In fact I did a whole update before asking for help.
Anyway, I understand now the meaning of the "Version 2" tick, that does appear even in the version I'm using...
The fact is that with that option activated, I get nothing from the server, not even what I post before.

I'll wait then.

Hi,

there is no installer for Mac OS X 10.5.8 with Rocweb included yet.

Well, that's true.
But I've copied / pasted the contents of the "web" folder from Mac Os Yosemite installer into the right place and I see things now :D
Seems great, though I doesn't work 100%.
Keep doing Rob!

your patch is not correct because some Rocweb service files are too old in the Leopard installer.

A new installer has been uploaded for Leopard.

Re: Rocweb V2 Preview testing

HI,

I have just tried Rovweb for the first time.

I have Chrome 42 on my phone and Rocrail 9082 on the PC.
I do not see Version 2 on my Rocrail. How do I get this?

I have communication but I see no plan, only text blocks.

Aaaaah. Just rembered something about ports. I am using 9000, but i think 8000+ ports are for http. I will change the port number tp 8090.

If I try to run a loc the speed jumps around and the loc cannot be controlled properly. (Hope buttons will become available if this is to replace andRoc that is great!)

I am new at Rocweb so I probably am doing things wrong.
Where can I find info for install I have read the wiki. (Eg the version 2 ???)

Maybe it is not ready yet, if so, I will stop from trying it for now. Otherwise maybe I can help with testing.

Regards,

Robert

Hi Robert,

you will not find a button to select version 2 because the old web service (version 1) was removed and so version 2 is the only one available :)
Perhaps you will have to setup some paths for the web server.

I now see the track plan (path needed) on Chrome on my phone.

However controlling a loc is difficult because the speed jumps about on the slide (60,20,70,15,63.4444, 21.8888 etc etc)
Once I select a loc via the throttle function the speed starts jumping up and down.
I see on my command station that the speed steps are randomly jumping about from zero to 28 (max).

Anyone know a solution?

Regards,

Robert

I will try version 9090.

Some thoughts:

- I am mostly using Firefox on PC for one Rocweb test and will use both Chrome and Firefox on Android phone.
- Missing or not yet implemented on rocweb is Half Auto mode, as is on androc. User should have the option to run his train.
- In my opinion essential for shunting is the button up/down control of speed, as is available on androc.

Early days I guess so I will be patient. :)

Looking forward to the further development of this. Yay.

Regards,

Robert.

I just added "Half Auto mode" and "Soft reset".

I will think about it.
