[Solved] Making padRoc to work

Postby 9h1bw » 23.03.2012, 09:20

I have just downloaded the App-store padroc software and am finding difficulty to get it to work.
I have managed to get the connect function to work. However the trackplan for instance does not always load. When it does the plan starts breaking up and the control of trains in automode does not work. Throttle does not work either. The automate button works but not the power on button.
For instance this morning I could not get the Track Plan to download.

Can anybody help?

Hi,

you must make sure the track plan XML is well formed because the iOS and Java parsers are strict:
http://wiki.rocrail.net/doku.php?id=roc ... s_not_load

This concerns all mobile clients.

To check if your padRoc works you can connect it to:
rocrail.dyndns.org

Hi Rob,

I followed what you have said and I tried the Padroc in demo mode and in fact the features do work even Throttle function. However when I connect it to my layout the plan is breaking up whereby the points, signals and sensors are removed from their place on the plan and are all moved to the top lefthand corner of the screen. The same happensd to the block in which a loco has been placed. The throttle window does not open.
I can turn on and off the Power, Automate and Init Field button.

Maybe a good idea to post your plan.xml and rocrail.ini here?

Hi Ron,

I loaded the plan with padRoc and it looks very good.
Which version of padRoc are you using?
Best Regards, Rob.

Thanks Rob,

I downloaded the latest version 1.0.146 updated 17 February 2012.

However I got this from the Appstore as when I clicked 'about' in the menu nothing happened.

I hope this will be of help to you. I am looking forward using my iPad as a controller.

Hi Ron,

make sure padRoc is stopped.
Just double click on the home button and remove padRoc from the list by long pressing it and clicking on the delete symbol.

The info seems to be broken in padRoc.
Best Regards, Rob.

Hi Rob,

I deleted PadRoc as you suggested and then loaded it. I called up my plan and found out that I could change the points and signals which reflected in Rocview but not in padRoc. Similarly I called up a loco in block 13. This once again reflected in Rocview but showed in block 222 on padroc. When I tried to reset block 22 nothing happened. Once I clicked a new menu item and then went back to the track plan the scattering of the elements reoccurred.

Regards

Chris

How could I do that?

Make a photo of your iPad with the running padRoc and post it here.
Maybe that gives me some idea.
Also the Rocrail server trace could be of interest.
Best Regards, Rob.

Hi Rob

The photos as requested.

Photo 1 is the plan after a connect
Photo 2 is the plan after a loco in block 12 was reset and set in block 22. The move did not appear in the padroc plan but in the RocView plan only.
When i press Throttle the window does not appear.

I tried to take a photo of the padroc server but it was not clear. Message was locId not set in block 12.

Do you think the problem lies with PadRoc?

Chris

Hi Chris,

1) Check your WLAN network by using the browser in internet for a while.
2) Which iOS version is installed on the iPad? It seems that the latest iOS changed the behaviour of the PopOver windows, but the Throttle will appear...
3) Which Rocrail revision have you installed?

@padRoc users: Please report if you can help to solve Chris his problem.

Hi Rob,
may I answer in German please?
Hi Rob,

Interessante weitere Beobachtungen:
Power on / off ist schaltbar,

johannes
