[solved] RocNetNode crash

Post by soni07 » 25.04.2018, 14:45

Hi!
Had a working RocNetNode on a PI 3. Decided to make a clean installation. Formatted the card, installed Raspbian 2018-04-18 and made all settings in raspi-config, ran update / upgrade and also rpi update, installed the latest version of RocNetNode, restarted and node did not come up. Looked in syslog, see it being started but taken down immediately. Reinstalled now with the latest version of jessie 2017-07-05. Same result. What can be wrong ?? Attaches current syslog

Hi soni,

You installed which Raspbian version?
You installed which RocNetNode version? Jessie or Stretch?

Hi!

Raspbian=Version 9.
RocNetNode, Are there any versions for jessie and stretch? On the website there is only one that is mentioned as raspbian.armhf.deb! Tested the versions for a week back up to today's 13894.

Perhaps I misunderstood what version you meant.
I installed the Lite version.

The nightly build is for Stretch:
http://rocrail.net/software/rocrail-snapshot/
And is build on Stretch, not Lite.

Started last night with installing 2018-04-18-raspbian-stretch. Full version not Lite. RocNetNode 13894 and tonight 13897. Activated with and without GUI and with all Interface Options enabled. Got exactly the same behavior with exactly the same error code in syslog. Have tried multiple times with the same result every time. Do not know what I can do more.

Hi,

try an "sudo apt-get install -f" after installing rocnetnode, maybe some packages are not installed.

Try to start the rocnetnode binary in a console:

Code: Select all

cd /opt/rocnet
sudo ./rocnetnode -info
And copy the terminal output here in the forum.

Or try to check if all dependencies are met:

Code: Select all

ldd /opt/rocnet/rocnetnode
	linux-vdso.so.1 (0x7eeab000)
	/usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/libarmmem.so (0x76fb3000)
	libpthread.so.0 => /lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/libpthread.so.0 (0x76f73000)
	libdl.so.2 => /lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/libdl.so.2 (0x76f60000)
	libc.so.6 => /lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/libc.so.6 (0x76e21000)
	/lib/ld-linux-armhf.so.3 (0x76fc9000)

Hi Sonny,

have you activated the SPI and I2C-Interfaces in "sudo raspi-config"?

Hi Sonny,

I found the crash issue.
This happens in case no rocnetnode.ini is available.
I corrected this; Try the next nightly build and report the result.
