[fixed] Pwm port 16 not responding...

Post by fls » 02.03.2014, 17:32

Hi Rob(?),

You fixed the problem with the Pwm module to be controlled by signals and switches perfectly.
But I think you made a typo in the source, because port/servo 16 does not respond.

I tried to test all the ports on the raspi itself with a python script and they all work.
That let me to believe there is some problem in the rocnetnode.
To be more precisely, I see rocview/rocnet is sending commands to port 16, however the servo is not moving.

If you need specific traces, give me a shout, but I think you will probably find the issue easily in the source code....

Regards,

Fred

Hi Fred(?),

just should provide traces, plan.xml and rocrail.ini in any case.
Make sure you are using the latest Rocrail and Rocnetnode revision.
Also add trace files from Rocnetnode; After shutdown you can copy them from the SD card.

Hi Rob,

Here are the traces...

1st test = port 1 = bzzz bzzz
2nd test = port 16 = ~silence~
then some stuff = reconfiguring port 15 for a servo test (you see that in the log)
3rd test = port 15 = bzzz bzzz

btw, I use the same servo, just swapping ports.
I did also a test with a python script made by adafruit for the PCA9685 and all ports are working fine.
I just wanted to rule out hardware issues...

Info:
rocrail - 6887
rocnodenet - 6884
sprog 3 - 2.5
rocrail.zip
raspi.zip
Regards,

Fred

Sorry, no switch defined in your plan.xml.

I press the test button in the configuration screen of rocnetnode,
The 'channel' tab....
If that it not working, than a switch won't work at all. And how can I adjust it then?

Fred

Fred,

Make sure that there aren't any solder bridges between the channel 16 PWM output and the adjacent pin with an ohmmeter. I had one like that which rendered the PWM output dead. Once I removed the short, all was good.

Hi Rob,

It is now working perfectly!!

Pressing the "Fine tune button" in the gui, gives false/incorrect readings. Just to let you know.
It does NOT affect the operations!

Fred

Hi Rob,

Yes, I can (I though it was not worth the effort reporting...)

On Channel 9 it even crashes rocview (rocserver is still running in background)

Yes, i'm using the latest versions...
Rocrail 6905
Rocnet 6903
Sprog 3 2.5
traces.zip
