Windows 32bit builds: Still wanted/needed?

Post by rjversluis » 05.04.2019, 14:39

Hi,

just checking if the Windows 32bit builds are still wanted.
If not, I can shutdown one nightly build server.

Hi Rob,

I would not need it, but rumor has it that 32bit uses less memory than 64bit.
That could be a difference maker.

not sure if 64 bit version uses more memory, it is for sure that it can address/use more.
A 32 bit SO can address/use maximal 4GB RAM (if you put more physical RAM in the computer, it still uses less than 4GB), a 64 bit OS much more.

The Win32 Nightly Builds are generated by the same RPi as the Win64 Builds.

Hi,

I still have 2 Windows 32 bits (W7 + W10) and 1 Windows 64 bits (W10).

I'm using a 32bit PC with Win10: it has a large embedded 22" touch screen and would like to keep on using it.

Buon giorno!

No worries, Rob has already decided to keep the 32bit versions.
