MS2 - Rocrail - CCschnitte

Post by stef1234 » 20.11.2014, 12:02

Bonjour,

Merci :)

The problem is that you need to enter a specific address for any mfx loco, to get RR control it.
This address is easily retrieved when using a CS2 (loco file can be read with a PC connected to the CS2), but I don't know how to get it with an MS2.
So, the problem is clear, but no solution for the moment, by me.

The Wiki reports an old method: loco file can be directly read with a PC.
But this works only with a CS2, not with an MS2: that's the problem :(

Hi there,

For this question I am trying to implement the MFX discovery at the moment . No hazzle with sids, the goal is that locs will be generated automatic. A first try is tested and is currently in the branch. I you select discover and bind in the controller dialog and have the Gleisbox and MS2 connected you have a good chance it will work. Otherwise it is depending how transparant the CC schitte is for the CAN protocol.

Otherwise try it the next week. I am still working on this to improve but, at least for me, it is fairly complex to program and test all possible configurations for GB only , GB&MS2 and CS2.

J'ai du mal à comprendre :
'discover and bind in the controller dialog' ??

merci :)

controller dialog.png
It is the dialog where you configured the CC-schnitte

Hi,

Is there really that much difference between MS2 and CS2? In our command station section they seem to be together, should they be separated? At least I inferred by the name MCS2 that this was MS2 and CS2 information. Now I read that MS2 does not connect to a PC directly (needs Gleisbox), but CS2 does. I assume a user has to hook them up to Rocrail quite differently.

Thanks,

Sure MS2 and CS2 are quite different in the way they communicate.
CS2 has a network adapter (thus a connection to a PC is possible, either directly or through a network/switch), while MS2 has only a CAN-BUS connection (and you need some other device, like Schnittstelle or a dedicated Arduino board etc to connect to a network).

Tomorrow, I'll try the updated version with my CS2 and test the new "function" prepared by Woodyboy

Invalid ping packet received for type MS2 UID 0x4D5347CF

l'alimentation est coupée :
Power off, freeze clock

mais tout fonctionne normalement
Que se passe t-il ?
Je joins le fichier .trc

Merci

Hi Tom,

This is an error that the can id mismatches with the used can Id of the device.. Operation is possible without limited functionality. But is not conform specifications and integrity of error free transmission is without warranty.
